Blackpool Illuminations are giving the UK the chance to get a-head in this years illuminations. Local heads invites the public to feature in a colourful portrait based installation. It comprises of 288 "heads". You can submit your photograph and get a chance to be choosen to appear in the display.

Blackpool have
announced the names of the mystery celebrities who will be switching on the 2008
Illuminations on Friday 29th August in conjunction with BBC Radio
2.
The Top Gear
team who start their brand new series on BBC 2 on Sunday 22nd June
are making an extended pit stop to flick the famous switch during a free concert
and special live broadcast .

The Big Ticket!

Yes its Blackpool Marathon time again. A wet day but ideal conditions for running. Thanks to all our Marathon guests for a good weekend.

With over eight miles of lights work starts early in the year on the illuminations. They are testing them in April, you never know you might see them when you visit too (not guaranteed)

Reports Tour of Talent

It's July already and fun time in Blackpool.
On 27th July from 10am onwards come down to the
St Chads Headland, just down the road from us. It's
your chance to show off your talent, and you could go
live on the TV in the final which will be broadcast
from 6pm on ITV Granada.
